Psalm 37

  Don’t worry about people who do bad things, and don’t feel jealous of those who do wrong. Because they’ll dry up fast like grass, and fade away like green plants. Trust the Lord and do good. Live in the land and rely on His faithfulness for safety. Take joy in the Lord, and He will give you what your heart wants and asks for. Give your plans to the Lord. Trust Him, and He will make them happen. He will make your good actions shine like light, and your right choices glow like the noonday sun. Be calm before the Lord. Wait for Him patiently and put your trust in Him. Don’t get upset because someone is doing well by being bad, or because a person is carrying out evil plans. Stop being angry and let go of your rage. Don’t get upset—it only leads to more bad things. People who do evil will be destroyed. But those who wait for the Lord will get the land as their own. Soon, the wicked person will be gone forever.   My son, don’t forget what I’ve taught you—instead, let your heart hold tight to my rules. Why? Because they’ll add years to your life—good, meaningful years—and fill your days with peace and all the good things that make life whole. Never let kindness, mercy, or honesty slip away from you. Think of them like a necklace: tie them around your neck to keep them close. And write them deep in your heart, so you never lose sight of them. If you do that, both God and other people will look at you with favor and respect. Put all your trust in the Lord with every part of your heart. Don’t just rely on what  you  think is right or what  you  understand. In everything you do, remember Him, acknowledge Him, and let Him guide you. Then He’ll clear your path—no more obstacles getting in your way. Don’t act like you know everything.
